It does no conversion like Handbrake but is good at preserving original content and cherry-picking audio tracks for later conversion. Once you have selected the correct *.mpls and the corresponding titleset is loaded, you should have a list of the streams, some of which you can de-select if you want. MakeMKV is a great free tool for ripping DVD and Blu-ray content. I presume you can do the same in RipBot, though I really don't remember. So if you were to extract main movie with, say, tsMuxer, you would choose the correct *.mpls, not the largest *.m2ts. Again, BDinfo is useful for identifying the *.mpls for a titleset. MKVToolNix, however, supports reading chapters from the playlist file. That tends to be one of the usual differences between nearly identical titles. Apparently ffmpeg does not support Blu-ray chapters directly. ![]() Having not seen the movie yet, I would guess that the scene has international/foreign signage in one version and english signage in the other. Thats 00771.mpls and the run time is 1:35:02, although its. After demuxing the TrueHD track from the MKV file and attempting to transcode via ffmpeg, I get 20 'Lossless check failed' warnings, which I suspect may have something to do with MakeMKV's inability to rip to FLAC. Luckily, there appears to only be one title with the correct run time (found by putting the disc into PS3 and seeing the total length of the movie). Feature 2: Segment map: 1,382,386,384,385. Funny I just came here looking for the same answer. There is one *.mpls for each movie playlist or titleset. Feature 1: Segment map: 1,382,383,384,385. For the former choice, you need a beta key to get 30 days MakeMKV free trial. After that, you have to find an updated MakeMKV key for MakeMKV free use, and this code updates every two months. It looks 00259.MPLS is the correct playlist for Source Code. Then google for the movie name and the playlist number and see if there are any hits. All the movie playlists are in that folder. Besides the MakeMKV beta download, another choice is to purchase the full activation key if you expect more functions from this MKV maker. The first one on the list is the right one 99 of the time. There is a PLAYLIST directory within the BDMV folder on a Blu-Ray movie disc. So if you persist in selecting *.m2ts files rather than the correct *.mpls file, you're not going to get anywhere. Now you've encountered titleset(s) that aren't single *.m2ts files. Hence your confusion your method has been incorrect, although you've gotten away with it heretofore. Often that's the case, but sometimes it isn't. No, picking the largest *.m2ts file only works if the main movie is in a SINGLE *.m2ts file. ![]()
